Single-Phase Motor Centrifugal Switch is a cleverly designed motor starting and control device. Its core mechanism is to use changes in centrifugal force to provide additional starting assistance. This process is achieved through a sophisticated and reliable mechanical system, which brings critical support and control to the starting phase of the electric motor.
In the initial state of the motor, the centrifugal switch remains closed. This is because when the motor stops or starts for the first time, the centrifugal force is small and not enough to trigger the movement of the centrifugal mechanism. At this time, the internal connection mechanism ensures that the contacts in the switch remain closed and the circuit is not disturbed.
As the motor starts, the rotational speed gradually increases, and the centrifugal force begins to gradually increase. The centrifugal mechanism begins to shift when it is subjected to sufficient centrifugal force, which is the key to the entire startup process. The movement of the centrifugal mechanism causes corresponding changes in the connecting mechanism, prompting the centrifugal switch to transition from a closed state to an open state.
Once the centrifugal switch is opened, this signals the intervention of starting assistance. At this stage, the centrifugal switch may affect other components in the motor circuit, most typically the starting capacitor. The participation of the starting capacitor provides additional current and energy to the motor, ensuring sufficient starting torque. This additional starting assistance is essential to cope with the high load and starting torque demands of the electric motor when starting.
As the motor speed increases further, the centrifugal mechanism keeps the centrifugal switch open. This means that the corresponding components in the circuit continue to participate in the operation of the motor, ensuring the smooth and reliable operation of the entire system. The stability of the centrifugal mechanism allows the switch to remain open after the motor reaches the set operating speed. This is also the important role of the centrifugal switch in the control system.
